| Meet Marion and Peter Peter (78) and Marion (68) live in the same house in the suburbs where they raised their family. Peter retired at 65, and Marion retired last year at 67. Lately, though, both have had some new health problems. Peter has suffered several strokes in recent years and Marion has high blood pressure. They take various medications, including a bood thinner to treat Marion's heart concerns. Marion is also worried about osteoporosis and takes a calcium supplement prescribed by her doctor. Peter and Marion still enjoy taking walks together, and Marion likes to ride her bike. She has an old stationary bike in the basement that she uses two or three times a week. Peter is more sedentary. They recently received a computer and printer from their children and he enjoys tinkering with it in the afternoons. Peter and Marion eat at home most days, and Marion usually prepares the meals. However, she always ends up spending more time than she would like on planning each week's meals and doing the shopping. |
