Trace elements, of course, need not be physical. One clue to possible dirty data lies in an organization's internal rules and policies, external laws concerning it, and professional codes of ethics. As Durkheim suggested, their presence is often a sign that members will face temptations to behave contrariwise. Their presence is also a clue to the presence of pressures toward social control corruption. Sociologists can draw upon their knowledge of organizations for clues to where dirty data is likely to be found. Certain structural and cultural characteristics can serve as likely barometers of dirty data. The developing literature on organizational deviance contains many clues (Needleman and Needleman, 1979; Sherman, 1980; Finney and Lesieur, 1982). Elements of folk culture such as humor, slang, nick-names, graffiti, and gossip can also offer clues.

So apparently there's an "FPS" concept game that takes on the events of 9/11 from a victim's point of view. The goal is to escape from the towers. The site is not up currently, so I can't really comment on it. It does, however, use the Unreal engine, which is so ironic I can't even take the meta-ness of it all.
This is of course related to my POV/POW project, which looks at FPS games in the context of the war experiences of civilians, especially women and children.

addendum: The site is now up. I got to the index page and just couldn't look any more. It's not PTSD or anything, but there are some images I can't look too closely at. I'm sorry. Someone else will have to talk about this game.
Psiloc miniGPS for SE P800 is an app that tracks your location relative to nearby cell towers, then triggers location-based events.
That means, you can create an event to have an alarm at the moment your phone logs in (or out) a selected cell. So you will be able to sleep calmly in your train to work or school - it will wake you up precisely at your station, even if your train is late? You can also set it up to remain you of speed controls! For every such alarm you can select any sound file from your device (also prepared by you).
For places like church, theater, hospital etc. you can set a flight mode event which will just switch the phone part of your P800 off as soon as you come there! No more embarrassing rings during performance!
via Matt Jones. If you follow the link, it will take you to the archives of the Geowanking mailing list, which has such a good name I decided to join.
Also: I think the U. of Minnesota's type generation engine is an extremely elegant idea. It checks the temperature outside, than uses that data to tweak a typeface. Where else but Minnesota would you get a typeface that freezes along with you?
So I was looking at this and decided to check out the GeoUrl link and discovered this stunning site. Now I really want to visit Koln. Which I guess is the point, no?
